Xiaomi reportedly has first dibs on adopting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, which Qualcomm is expected to announce in October. As a result, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro—which are also anticipated to be introduced in October—will be the first smartphones to include the next flagship processor.
According to the well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat station, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is reportedly expected to include a new single (but wide) aperture main camera with 50 MP resolution and a “super big” sensor. Thus, it no longer has the variable aperture of its predecessor.
The phone will be marginally slimmer than its predecessor overall, and it will be combined with a 50 MP 3x telephoto periscope zoom camera.
Similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will also have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, an extra big battery, and a micro-curved screen with “2K” resolution.
Regretfully, the Xiaomi 15 Pro might meet the same end as the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which was never made available outside of China.
Previous rumors state that the main camera on the 15 Pro will feature the 1″-type OmniVision OV50K sensor, while the ultrawide camera will also have 50 MP resolution. It appears that the Sony IMX882 will be used by the periscope zoom camera.
